We are now a couple of months into Direct Access being allowed in Missouri. Direct access allows patients to choose WHEN they should go to therapy. This takes the step of seeing your primary care or specialty care provider out of the equation when seeking physical therapy. You have the right to choose WHERE to go as well. Healthcare should be in the hands of the patients, and we are grateful for this shift, so you have the CHOICE.
With Direct Access, we must follow a few guidelines, and we want you to be aware of them as well. First, you must have a primary care/specialty care provider and see them regularly. Second, you will have 10 physical therapy visits. Our team will complete a progress note and send it to your primary care/specialty care provider. Once they sign off, then you can continue care. So far, several new and former patients have taken advantage of Direct Access. The good news is that most insurances accept Direct Access, so you can keep using your benefits.
We asked a current Direct Access patient what the process has been like using Direct Access, and he said, “Convenient, time-saving, and easy.” – Bob P.
We understand you still may have some questions, and our team is here to help answer those. NOW is the time to seek the help you need. If you still have physical therapy benefits, use them before the year ends! Let our team help you.
